One hundred and thirty-four drivers from several European countries completed three training runs during the opening day of the BABA SLOVAKIA 2026 event. Tomorrow, a pair of competition runs awaits them all, which will also reveal the names of the fastest.
Nice sunny weather accompanied the training day at Pezinská Baba. All one hundred and thirty-four accepted vehicles and drivers lined up for the start three times during Saturday (July 25, 2026).
The four thousand one hundred and sixty-six meter long track with an elevation gain of more than one hundred and eighty meters was mastered in the fastest time by Václav Janík, a racer from Šternberk in Moravia, in a Norma M20 FC single-seater, in a time of 1:54.922 minutes. However, after this performance, he reported technical problems, so we can only hope that we will see him at the start of tomorrow’s “sharp” races.
Behind Vašek, his compatriots David Komárek finished in second place on the McLaren F1 evo2019 and Milan Langer, driving a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VII, finished third.
Fourth place in the absolute standings belonged to the Slovak five-time hillclimb champion, Martin Juhás, and his Lola B03/51 formula.
Among the Slovak racers in the so-called sheet metal vehicles, Miro Šutlák was the fastest, driving a Škoda Fabia, and Jaro Dubóczi finished right behind him on a Seat Leon Cup Racer.
The BABA SLOVAKIA 2026 race continues tomorrow (Sunday, July 26, 2026) with a pair of competitive races, the start of which is scheduled for 8:30 and 1:00 p.m. After their completion, the fastest riders in several championships in which they will compete will be awarded.
